About this deal
Pokemon Green Version is a Japanese-exclusive role-playing game developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy, first released in Japan on 27 February 1996. It is one of the only main series Pokemon games never released in any language other than Japanese, and never sold outside Japan and Taiwan, making it a genuinely rare and sought-after piece of gaming history. The mascot of Green Version is Venusaur. The entire game is in Japanese, so a working knowledge of the language or familiarity with the series is helpful. Players travel the Kanto region, collecting eight Gym Badges to become the Pokemon Champion while completing the Pokedex by catching all 151 Pokemon. Green features different Pokemon distributions from Red, which encouraged trading between the two versions. Note that a Japanese game cannot connect or trade with a non-Japanese game without causing data corruption. The battery has been replaced and the cartridge has been tested and confirmed to be working, meaning save functionality should be fully intact.
