Available as open box on eBay, the xDuoo TA-22 is a desktop DAC, balanced headphone amplifier, and preamp aimed at audiophiles who want the warmth of valve sound without sacrificing output power. It provides high-performance USB, optical, coaxial, and Bluetooth 5.1 audio decoding. Dual ESS ES9038Q2M DAC chips process the left and right channels independently, supporting PCM 32-bit/384kHz and DSD256, as well as MQA rendering. Bluetooth 5.1 is handled by a Qualcomm QCC5125 chip, supporting SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX LL, aptX HD, and LDAC. Using a hybrid amplifier structure, the TA-22 pairs solid-state transistors for strong output power with dual 12AU7 tubes for musicality, warmth, and smoothness. Headphone outputs include a 4-pin XLR and a 4.4mm balanced jack, delivering up to 3,000mW of output power. The TA-22 also gives you the option to use it as a tube preamp, and xDuoo states it is suited to headphones with impedances from 16 to 600 ohms. Note that it is not well suited to IEMs.
