About this deal
The Chaos Engine is a top-down run-and-gun game developed by The Bitmap Brothers and published by Renegade Software in 1993, set in a steampunk Victorian age where one or two players battle the hostile creations of the titular Chaos Engine across four landscapes. Players choose two adventurers from a group of six, each with varying qualities that affect gameplay such as speed and combat ability. In single-player mode, the computer controls the second character, so you never have to face the chaos alone. Players traverse each level picking up power-ups, gold and keys to solve puzzles and mazes, and must activate a number of nodes to open the final doors at the end of each level. At the end of every second level there is an opportunity to spend collected gold on upgrading weapons, increasing hit points and improving character attributes. A cooperative two-player mode lets two people play simultaneously, each controlling one of the two chosen characters. This is the PAL Mega Drive cartridge only, with no box or manual included.
