Spirit Island is a cooperative settler-destruction strategy game designed by R. Eric Reuss, set in an alternate-history world around A.D. 1700. The core game supports 1 to 4 players and is aimed at fans of deep, strategic games. Players act as different spirits of the land, each with their own unique elemental powers, working with the native Dahan to increase their strength and drive invading colonists from the island. The game escalates as it progresses, with the spirits developing new powers and the invaders increasing their colonisation efforts. There are 8 spirits to choose from, all of which play differently and cater to varied play styles. The game also comes with three Adversaries and three Scenarios, which add extra rules and increase the challenge. It was rated number 1 in the BoardGameGeek 2024 People's Choice Top 200 Solo Games, the third year in a row it took the top spot.
