About this deal
Red Sonja received her own self-titled Marvel Comics series in 1977. The series was written by Clair Noto and Roy Thomas, with art by Frank Thorne on issues 1 to 11, followed by pencils from John Buscema on issues 12 and 13 and Sal Buscema on issue 14. Set in the sword-and-sorcery Hyborian Age, it follows the warrior known as the She-Devil with a Sword through episodic fantasy adventures. This bundle of 11 issues (1, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14) spans a substantial run of the series and is offered in Very Good condition. Red Sonja had originally debuted in Marvel's Conan the Barbarian #23 in 1973, with her origin transposed to the Hyborian Age so that she could interact with Conan. The run is a solid find for collectors of Bronze Age Marvel comics, fans of classic sword-and-sorcery, or anyone building a complete set of this 15-issue series.
