Proctor Valley Road is a horror limited series from BOOM! Studios, written by Grant Morrison and Alex Child, with art by Naomi Franquiz and colours by Tamra Bonvillain. The series blends 1970s Americana with supernatural horror, set against a California backdrop and following a group of teenage girls caught up in something far more dangerous than they bargained for. The titular road is a real location in California that has been the subject of ghost documentaries and urban legends about dark entities said to roam the area. This was Grant Morrison's first original series since Klaus in 2015, also published by BOOM! Studios, and the legendary writer is known for high-concept approaches and radical deconstructions. Issue one sold out and returned with a new printing in June 2021, making these first-print copies of particular interest to collectors. The series was developed in partnership with NBCUniversal, whose UCP division planned to adapt it for television. A solid pick for fans of character-driven horror comics with a strong creative team.
