The Raspberry Pi PoE+ HAT adds Power-over-Ethernet functionality to a Raspberry Pi 4B or Pi 3B+, delivering both data and power through a single Ethernet cable. It meets the IEEE 802.3at-2009 standard, accepts 37-57 V DC input, and delivers 5 V DC at 4 A output. It is also backwards compatible, so it will work with older PoE switches as well as newer PoE+ switches. Note that this PoE+ HAT is not compatible with Raspberry Pi 5 boards. Cooling is handled by a 25 mm x 25 mm brushless fan, and the board features a fully isolated switched-mode power supply. The fan is temperature-controlled, starting to spin at 40 degrees and speeding up as temperature rises, ensuring cool and quiet operation.
