About this deal
The IBotz Hydrazoid MR-1004 is a build-your-own robot kit aimed at budding electronics enthusiasts aged 14 and up. It centres on the basic robotic function of sound detection , and features four spindly legs and fibre-optic antennas that give it a distinctive, extra-terrestrial look. When the Hydrazoid detects a sound, its motor activates for around 12 seconds, and a pair of green LEDs and a red LED turn on for the duration of the robot's walk. The sound sensor is a condenser microphone with adjustable sensitivity. The kit includes all the parts needed to put it together, including a pre-soldered circuit board, one DC motor, and high-quality, durable plastic parts that snap and screw together. No soldering is required. The kit comes with detailed instructions and educational background information on each component, teaching the fundamentals of sensor technology. All you need are a small Phillips screwdriver and wire cutters. Two AA alkaline batteries are required but not included.
