LEGO Technic 42121 Heavy-Duty Excavator is a 2-in-1 building set aimed at boys and girls aged 8 and up. It can be built as a heavy-duty excavator or rebuilt into a tracked tractor with backhoe. Realistic features include a moving shovel, arm, running belts, and a rotating body to mimic real construction vehicles. There is also a detailed cabin with a driver's seat and control panel, and the set includes extra LEGO brick stones to dig and 4 cones. The set contains 569 pieces in total. 86 individual pieces connect to form the caterpillar tracks, which look highly accurate once built, and connect through a rotating turntable for good manoeuvrability. The finished excavator model measures over 23 cm high (arm up), 37 cm long (arm fully extended), and 11 cm wide. This is a retired set, sold here complete with instructions but without the original box.
