LEGO Technic 8109 Flatbed Truck is a retired set released in 2011, comprising 1,115 pieces. It is aimed at builders aged 10 to 16 and is a great challenge for fans of mechanical, working models. A Power Functions motor and battery box are included, powering a motorised flatbed along with a winch and wheel lift. You can steer the truck into position, then raise or lower the motorised flatbed to load a vehicle with the winch, and extend the wheel lift to tow a second vehicle at the same time. The completed model measures roughly 40 cm long and 15 cm tall. An alternative build is also included -- a catering truck, which resembles an airport lift truck -- though the alternative model instructions must be downloaded from the LEGO website rather than being printed in the box. Being brand new and sealed makes this a particularly appealing find, as the set has long since been retired.
