LEGO 8009 Technic R2-D2 is a Star Wars set released in 2002, comprising 242 pieces built entirely from Technic parts. The model replicates the key features of the famous character: the head can turn 360 degrees, the middle foot can be extended and retracted, and there is an arm under one of the front panels which can be extended when the panel is opened. When the middle foot is folded away, pressing a button on the front releases a rubber band mechanism that extends the foot and simultaneously tilts the body forward, mimicking the posture astromech droids adopt when moving. All the feet also contain moving wheels, allowing the model to roll. This used set comes with its original instructions but no box.
