The Hypra Tape Module (also known as Speed Tape, REX 9510) is a cartridge by REX Datentechnik that plugs into the expansion port of the Commodore C64 or C128. It is a dedicated tape fast-loader that accelerates LOAD, SAVE and VERIFY operations approximately tenfold, achieving speeds comparable to an unaccelerated 1541 floppy drive. It is ideal for retro computing enthusiasts who still use a Datassette for cassette-based software and want to drastically cut waiting times. The module includes a built-in reset button. On power-up, the machine code routine is loaded into memory without consuming any BASIC workspace. The module is also compatible with other common Turbo Tape programs.
