About this deal
Heavy Metal is an American science fantasy comics magazine, first published in 1977, known for its blend of dark fantasy, science fiction, erotica, and illustrated storytelling. This lot covers the complete 1996 and 1997 publication years, giving collectors a full run of both years in one purchase. Dubbed the adult illustrated fantasy magazine, Heavy Metal also publishes tales of horror, science fiction, and adventure. Each issue features serialised graphic novels, standalone illustrated stories, and concept art embracing both the mystical and the macabre. Contributors to these mid-1990s issues included prominent European artists such as Frezzato, Manara, Azpiri, Caza, and Prado across the 1996 issues, with the 1997 run including previews of the F.A.K.K.2 film project, a Horror Special, and work by Manara. Sold in Very Good condition, this is a solid find for fans of cult illustrated fiction or collectors of 1990s periodicals.
