The Eternals are a race of humanoids created by Jack Kirby, making their first appearance in Marvel Comics in July 1976. In the Marvel Universe, they are an offshoot of humanity created by the alien Celestials to defend Earth, with their primary adversaries being the Deviants, who share a similar origin and pose a regular threat to humanity. Upon his return to Marvel after a stint at DC, Kirby continued exploring his interest in mythological science fiction through The Eternals. This lot contains issues 2, 3, 5 and 6 from the original 1976 series, all written and drawn by Kirby. Issue 5 formally introduced Thena and Makkari, while issue 6 sees them preparing to take on the Deviants and rescue Ikaris from their grasp.
