About this deal

The Commodore 64 is one of the most celebrated home computers ever made, first introduced in January 1982. It runs on an MOS 6510 processor and packs 64 kilobytes of RAM -- hence the name. Onboard features include a custom SID sound chip, 16-colour graphics, and 8 hardware sprites. It connects to a standard television and supports a keyboard, joystick, cassette tape, floppy disk drives, and a printer. Between 17 and 30 million units were sold worldwide, making it the best-selling early home computer. In the European market, cassettes were the most common distribution method for C64 software , and the bundled Datasette is the purpose-built solution for that. The Datasette is Commodore's dedicated magnetic-tape data storage device, using standard compact cassettes to provide inexpensive storage for the C64. Programs are written twice to tape for error correction, and the Datasette has built-in analogue-to-digital converters and audio filters to handle the conversion reliably. This boxed, tested bundle is ideal for collectors and retro computing enthusiasts looking for an authentic and complete C64 setup.
