About this deal

The Commodore Amiga A1200 is a much-loved classic home computer from the early 1990s. Released by Commodore International and aimed at the home computer market, it launched in October 1992 at a base price of £399 in the UK. It is an all-in-one design incorporating the CPU, keyboard, and disk drives, with the option of an internal 2.5-inch hard disk drive, all in one unit. Unlike earlier Amigas which used the 16-bit Motorola 68000, the A1200 was built around the 32-bit Motorola 68EC020 , running at 14.28 MHz. The A1200 shipped with Commodore's third-generation Advanced Graphics Architecture (AGA) chipset, featuring improved graphical abilities compared to earlier generations. AGA increases the colour palette from 4,096 colours to 16.8 million, with up to 256 on-screen colours normally, and an improved HAM mode allowing 262,144 on-screen colours. It also features a PCMCIA Type II slot and an internal 44-pin ATA interface. This listing is sold as power tested only, for parts or not working, making it best suited to collectors, retro enthusiasts, or hobbyists looking for a project machine or a source of spares.
