This is a used metal Warhammer 40,000 miniature from the Vostroyan Firstborn range of the Imperial Guard (Astra Militarum). Games Workshop released the Vostroyan Firstborn range as metal miniatures in 2006, coinciding with the Fall of Medusa V global campaign. The range has since become highly sought after by collectors and hobbyists. The Firstborn are visually inspired by real-world Cossacks and the Tsarist Russian army, giving them a distinctive and ornate appearance that sets them apart from other Imperial Guard regiments. Vostroyan Firstborn soldiers are depicted as particularly well-equipped, clad in carapace armour breastplates and armed with finely wrought lasgun rifles, with wargear often passed down through generations and embellished with red dyes and brass metalwork. It is traditional for Firstborn regimental officers to bear lasguns with integrated axe blades or bayonets, making the officer and sergeant figures especially characterful sculpts.
