About this deal
The Nintendo Game Boy DMG-01, released in 1989, was Nintendo's first dedicated 8-bit handheld console to use interchangeable cartridges. It runs on a custom Sharp processor at 4.19 MHz with 8KB of RAM and a 160x144 pixel monochrome dot matrix display -- hence the DMG name, which stands for Dot Matrix Game. Controls consist of a D-pad, A and B face buttons, and Start and Select, with side dials for volume and screen contrast. It runs on four AA batteries and includes a 3.5mm headphone jack for stereo output. The Game Genie is a cheat accessory that allowed players to alter code transmitted between game cartridges and the console. Users enter a series of codes to produce effects such as extra lives, additional ammunition, or level skipping. The Game Boy edition has a slot for cartridges, plugs into the console's game slot itself, and features two face buttons for toggling codes on and off or returning to the code input screen. This is a great value lot for retro gaming fans or collectors, combining a verified working original console with a bundle of games and a sought-after period accessory.
