About this deal
Garfield: Caught in the Act is a 1995 side-scrolling platform game developed and published by Sega for the Mega Drive. The story sees Odie scare Garfield while they are watching television, causing them to fall on the TV and break it. Their botched repair attempt brings to life an electronic monster called the Glitch, who sucks Garfield into the television, where he must defeat it to escape. All sprites were hand-drawn by Garfield creator Jim Davis and his company Paws, Inc., then digitised by the teams at Sega Interactive. Players control Garfield across five 2D side-scrolling levels, each a parody of a film or television genre, such as horror in Count Slobula's Castle or the prehistoric Cave Cat 3,000,000 BC. Garfield can attack enemies up close or throw objects at them, with the weapons and throwable items changing between each level. The cartoon's deadpan humour is kept intact throughout, with Garfield adapting to each setting with amusing costume changes. This PAL cartridge, complete with its original manual, is a solid pick for retro collectors and fans of the classic comic strip cat.
