About this deal

Earthworm Jim is a run and gun platform game developed by Shiny Entertainment, first released for the Sega Mega Drive in 1994. The premise is delightfully absurd: you play as Jim, an ordinary earthworm who discovers a robotic suit that grants him incredible powers, and he sets off to rescue Princess What's-Her-Name from the villainous Psy-Crow. Notably, the Mega Drive version includes an extra level not found on the Super Nintendo release, as the cartridge format allowed for additional content. The game is celebrated for its cartoon-style graphics, which were groundbreaking for the Mega Drive, with fluid animations and Jim's expressive movements bringing the character to life in ways few games of the era could match. Upon its original release it was praised for its detailed animation, polished gameplay and surreal humour, and it became the first game ever to receive a 100% review in GamesMaster magazine. A great pick for retro gaming fans and collectors of 16-bit classics alike.
