About this deal

Tomb of Dracula was a 70-issue Marvel series that ran from 1972 to 1979, following a group of vampire hunters battling Count Dracula and other supernatural threats. The series is fondly remembered for Gene Colan's pencils, inked by Tom Palmer, bringing Marv Wolfman's dramatic storytelling vividly to life. Issues 42 to 45 were published between late 1975 and early 1976. Issue 42 features a dramatic confrontation between Dracula and Doctor Sun, while issue 45 features Blade, Deacon Frost, and Hannibal King. Marvel Value Stamps were a set of collectible stamps released as a promotional programme run by Marvel Comics from 1974 to 1976. Each stamp featured a Marvel character and encouraged readers to cut it out and collect them all, which at the time kids did, defacing what are now considered significant Bronze Age collectibles. Three of the four issues in this lot are missing their stamps as a result. Cutting out a stamp drastically lowers the collectible condition and value of an issue, so buyers should factor this in, though the lot still offers an affordable entry point into a highly regarded Bronze Age horror run.
