This is a job lot of original Archie Comics issues from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures series, which was published from August 1988 to October 1995. The series debuted as a three-part miniseries and initially adapted episodes from the 1987 animated television series, before Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird handed the comic over to Mirage artists Ryan Brown and Stephen Murphy from issue 5 onwards. In their hands the comic diverged into unique new story arcs, often incorporating social, environmentalist, and animal rights themes, and introduced several new characters of various races and backgrounds, including humans, mutants, aliens, and other anthropomorphic creatures. This lot covers issues 1-14, 17, 20 and 24, spanning the early TV adaptations right through to the original storyline era, making it a strong start to any collection of this beloved run. The series took the Ninja Turtles on many international adventures across South America and Asia, as well as space adventures, and also saw them travel backwards and forwards in time. The series is aimed at fans of the classic 1987 cartoon and is well regarded by collectors; demand has been strong enough that IDW Publishing recently began releasing omnibus editions collecting the very issues found in this lot.
