About this deal
The New Zealand Story is a classic 1988 arcade platform game originally developed by Taito, with the Amiga conversion handled by Ocean Software. You play as Tiki, a kiwi bird on a mission to rescue his kidnapped friends, navigating scrolling maze-like levels and freeing captive kiwis from cages. Weaponry starts as an endless supply of arrows, but pickups can upgrade these to bombs, lasers, or bouncing fireballs. There are five stages, each made up of four sub-levels, with the fourth sub-level guarded by an end-of-level boss. The game was notably included in the Amiga 500 Batman Pack, which launched in September 1989 and sold over two million units , making it one of the most fondly remembered titles of the era. The Amiga version features charming visuals and a catchy soundtrack, with smooth and responsive controls and no noticeable slowdown. The game was ranked the 19th best game of all time by Amiga Power. A complete big box copy in superb condition is a genuine collector's piece and an ideal buy for any retro Amiga enthusiast.
