This is the Benewake TF-NOVA, a compact single-point LiDAR ranging module built around a Time of Flight (ToF) principle. It is described as the first one-dimensional area detection solution of its kind, achieving wide horizontal sensing from a single static sensor without the need for mechanical scanners or multi-sensor arrays. Its distinctive 14 degrees horizontal by 1 degree vertical field of view means it can detect an area roughly 25 x 1.7 cm from 1 metre away, with a built-in obstacle recognition algorithm designed to accurately identify obstacle information. The measurement range runs from 0.1 m to 14 m, with a frame rate adjustable between 1 and 900 Hz and an accuracy of plus or minus 5 cm in the 0.1 to 4 m band. At just 26.5 x 21.05 x 12 mm, the module is small enough to embed easily into robots, drones, or vehicles. It features a compact design, multiple interfaces, a waterproof lens, and is suited to both indoor and outdoor use.
