The Synology DS1522+ DiskStation is a used 5-bay desktop NAS aimed at home users and small to medium-sized businesses. It is powered by an AMD Ryzen R1600 dual-core processor running at 2.6 GHz with burst up to 3.1 GHz, paired with 8 GB of DDR4 ECC RAM expandable up to 32 GB. The five drive bays accept 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch SATA HDDs or SSDs, and the two M.2 2280 NVMe slots can be used for SSD caching. Four built-in Gigabit LAN ports with support for link aggregation and automatic network failover provide reliable connectivity out of the box.
