The Synology DS1019+ is a 5-bay desktop NAS aimed at small offices, home users and IT enthusiasts. It is powered by an Intel Celeron J3455 quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, boosting up to 2.3GHz, and comes with 8GB of DDR3L RAM. It also features two built-in M.2 NVMe SSD slots for SSD read/write caching without using up any of the main drive bays. Connectivity includes dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, two USB 3.0 ports, and one eSATA port, with support for RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, and JBOD configurations. The unit can also be scaled up to 10 drives via a DX517 expansion unit. The four included Seagate IronWolf 6TB drives are purpose-built for NAS use. They deliver speeds of up to 210MB/s and are specifically designed for less wear and tear, reduced noise and vibration, and increased file-sharing performance. Rotational Vibration sensors are included as standard to maintain high performance in multi-bay enclosures.
