Jagged Earth is the second expansion for Spirit Island , the popular cooperative strategy board game in which players work together as elemental spirits to defend their island from colonising invaders. A copy of the base game Spirit Island is required to use this expansion. No other expansions are required to use it, though it is best balanced when combined with the Branch and Claw expansion. It supports 1 to 6 players, with a playing time of around 90 to 120 minutes, and carries a complexity rating of 4.5 out of 5. The box includes 10 new spirits, each with 41 unique power cards between them, plus two new modular island boards that extend play to 5 or 6 players. It also adds 24 major power cards, 33 minor power cards, and 30 event cards. Two new adversaries -- the Habsburg Monarchy and Russia -- raise the challenge further, alongside 8 new fear cards, 7 blight cards, and 3 scenarios. New token types -- Wilds, Beast, Disease, and Strife -- add fresh mechanics, as does the brand-new Badlands token introduced in this expansion. Recommended for ages 14 and above.
