About this deal
King of the Monsters is a fighting game originally developed by SNK for arcades, featuring playable giant monsters reminiscent of characters from kaiju and tokusatsu films. It was ported to the Sega Mega Drive in 1993. The game is a fighting and wrestling mash-up inspired by Japanese monster movies, with a small roster of playable characters. It pits giant monsters against each other in battles across a variety of urban environments. Players choose one of four monsters in the 16-bit version and can team up in two-player mode, with battles ending when a monster is pinned for a three count or time expires. Players can grab planes from the sky and hurl tanks, ships, and trains at opponents, with this environmental interaction adding variety to the gameplay. Causing more destruction also rewards players with health back at the end of each round. This boxed copy has been tested and is sold in acceptable condition, making it a solid pick for retro collectors and fans of the 16-bit era.
