About this deal
Sabre Wulf is a 2004 platformer developed by Rare for the Game Boy Advance, and is a remake of the beloved 1984 ZX Spectrum action-adventure of the same name. Players take on the role of safari adventurer Sabreman, running and jumping between platforms to retrieve treasure guarded by the Sabre Wulf, who pursues Sabreman back to the start of the level. Along the way, players can summon collectible creatures that grant special abilities needed to advance, such as using a bear's belly as a trampoline, a serpent as a platform, or an exploding creature as dynamite. The game spans eight worlds, each consisting of a sequence of platforming levels and culminating in a laboratory level, with the aim of retrieving pieces of the shattered amulet. The game combines 2D and 3D gameplay across a variety of levels. It uses a similar engine to that used in the Banjo and Donkey Kong Country series. A solid pick for fans of classic Rare titles or retro GBA platformers, this cartridge has been tested and confirmed working.
