The Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4S (CM4S) is a System on Module (SoM) containing processor, memory, eMMC flash, and supporting power circuitry, intended specifically for industrial customers migrating from Compute Module 3 or Compute Module 3+. It offers the internals of the CM4 in the DDR2-SODIMM form factor of CM1, CM3, and CM3+, making it a straightforward upgrade path for existing embedded product designs without requiring a hardware redesign. It is powered by a Broadcom BCM2711 quad-core 64-bit Cortex-A72 processor at 1.5GHz and is available with 1GB, 2GB, 4GB, or 8GB of LPDDR4-3200 SDRAM with ECC, plus up to 32GB of eMMC flash storage. Connectivity includes USB 2.0, 46 GPIO signals, HDMI 2.0 (up to 4Kp60), and MIPI DSI and CSI interfaces for displays and cameras. Unlike the standard Compute Module 4, the CM4S does not include onboard Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, which avoids the need for industrial customers to recertify their products for radio emissions. A compatible carrier board is required to use this module.
