About this deal
Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire are role-playing video games developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy Advance, and the first entries in the third generation of the Pokemon series. They were first released in Japan in late 2002. Set in the Hoenn region, the games task players with catching and training Pokemon, with new features including the ability to dive underwater and traverse bridges, while the core objective remains obtaining 8 gym badges and defeating the Elite Four. Over 200 Pokemon feature, including more than 100 newly discovered species, and double battles allow two Pokemon to fight simultaneously. This is a Japanese-market cartridge with a freshly replaced internal battery, which is an important consideration for buyers. Clock-based events in Ruby and Sapphire are governed by a CR1616 lithium battery inside the cartridge; a depleted battery stops these real-time events but does not impact the save file or core game progression, only affecting things like berry growth and the tidal cycle in Shoal Cave. With the battery renewed, the internal clock is restored to working order. Note that Japanese versions of Ruby and Sapphire cannot mix records with non-Japanese games, so this cartridge is best suited to collectors or players with other Japanese GBA titles.
