Pokemon Ruby is a third-generation RPG released for the Game Boy Advance in 2003, set in the all-new Hoenn region. The original 251 Pokemon were almost entirely absent as players explored Hoenn, with 135 completely new Pokemon to discover. The main objectives are to catch Pokemon, defeat the Elite Four, and stop a criminal organisation attempting to take over the region -- in Ruby's case, that organisation is Team Magma, who seek to awaken the legendary Pokemon Groudon. New features including double battles, Pokemon abilities, and Pokemon Contests were added to the series for the first time. Secret bases were also introduced, letting players carve out a hidden space in the world and customise it with items collected in-game. This is an original cartridge in excellent condition with a new battery installed, which is important as the game uses a real-time clock to influence in-game events such as tides and berry plant growth.
