The Pokemon Jungle set was the second expansion of the Pokemon Trading Card Game, released on 16 June 1999. Published by Wizards of the Coast, it was the first expansion to follow the Base Set in English and brought fan-favourite species to the hobby, including the Eeveelutions (Flareon, Vaporeon, Jolteon), Snorlax, Scyther, and Wigglytuff. The English release was expanded to 64 cards, as Wizards of the Coast included non-holofoil prints of the rare holo cards alongside their holographic counterparts. The set is particularly notable for its dual rarity system, with the 16 most popular Pokemon appearing in two forms: a dazzling holographic version and a more common non-holographic version, each with its own card number. As was customary for WOTC early Pokemon sets, Jungle received both a 1st Edition and Unlimited English release -- 1st Edition copies carry a small Edition 1 stamp below the artwork and are the more sought-after variant. These cards are sold ungraded, making condition a key consideration for collectors.
