Ancient Origins is a Pokemon Trading Card Game expansion from the XY series, released on 12 August 2015 and containing 100 cards in total (98 standard cards plus 2 secret rares). The set introduces all-new Special Energy cards and new Ancient Traits, and includes shiny versions of Primal Kyogre-EX, Primal Groudon-EX, and Mega Rayquaza-EX. Highlights include Hoopa-EX and fierce new challengers such as Mega Tyranitar-EX, Mega Ampharos-EX, and Mega Sceptile-EX. These are ungraded singles from the set, making them a solid choice for collectors completing their Ancient Origins binder or players building competitive decks. The most sought-after cards tend to be the Pokemon-EX and Mega EX cards, as well as the 2 secret rare items. The set was rotated out of Standard play in August 2017 but remains legal in the Expanded format.
