Originally launched in October 2020 as the Oculus Quest 2, it was rebranded under the Meta name in January 2022. It runs as a fully standalone device or can connect to a PC via a Link cable, and requires no external cameras or sensors for setup. Under the hood it is powered by the Snapdragon XR2 platform with 6GB of RAM. The display is a fast-switch LCD panel delivering 1832 x 1920 resolution per eye, with refresh rates of 60, 72, and 90Hz supported. 3D positional audio is built directly into the headset, and a 3.5mm audio port lets you use headphones if preferred.
