About this deal
This is a rare, Japan-exclusive limited edition of Nintendo's Game Boy Pocket handheld console, produced in collaboration with Sanrio and released in December 1997. The pink console features a Hello Kitty print on the casing and was sold exclusively at Sanrio Shops in Japan as part of a set. This Japanese variation with Sanrio and Hello Kitty branding was sold with the Sanrio Fortune Telling Party game by Imagineer. The Game Boy Pocket features a monochrome LCD screen that is an improvement over the original Game Boy's display, offering better contrast and greater energy efficiency, though it lacks the backlighting found in later models such as the Game Boy Light. It is a highly sought-after piece for both Hello Kitty fans and retro gaming collectors, and this unit has been tested and confirmed working.
