About this deal
The Nintendo Game Boy Color is an 8-bit handheld console released in 1998. Kiwi is one of the five original launch colours, famously used to represent the letter L in the Game Boy Color logo. Compared with the original Game Boy, it features a colour TFT screen, a CPU running at up to twice the speed, and four times as much memory. The screen can display up to 56 colours simultaneously from a palette of over 32,000. The Game Boy Color plays both original Game Boy games and titles specially enhanced for the Color, though it cannot play Game Boy Advance games. Over time the system amassed more than 900 dedicated titles, on top of the original Game Boy's catalogue of over 1,000 games. A headphone port lets players enjoy audio privately, and the console runs on two AA batteries. Note that the screen is not backlit, so good ambient lighting is recommended. A solid entry point into retro Nintendo gaming for collectors and newcomers alike.
