About this deal

The Nintendo Game Boy Color (CGB-001) is an 8-bit handheld game console released in 1998. Compared with the original Game Boy, it features a colour TFT screen instead of monochrome, a CPU running at up to twice the speed, and four times as much memory. The Atomic Purple variant is made from a distinctive translucent purple plastic shell , making it one of the most recognisable and sought-after colourways from the original lineup. The console runs on 2 x AA batteries and weighs approximately 138 g. It plays both original Game Boy games and Game Boy Color titles, making it one of the most versatile systems in the Game Boy family. Infrared ports on top of the console allow communication between two Game Boy Colors, a feature used by games such as Pokemon Gold and Silver. Note that the colour screen is not backlit, so a light source is needed to play in low-light conditions. This is a used console, ideal for retro gaming fans and collectors looking to own a piece of late-1990s handheld history.
