About this deal
The Nintendo Game Boy Advance SP in Cobalt Blue (model AGS-001) is a compact, clamshell-design upgrade to the original Game Boy Advance , released in international markets in March 2003 . Cobalt Blue was one of the two launch colours for the GBA SP. The AGS-001 features a front-lit screen, which can be toggled on or off, and was the first widely released Game Boy model with an integrated screen light and a rechargeable battery . Note that this is the original front-lit AGS-001 model, not the later AGS-101, which features a brighter backlit display . The Game Boy Advance SP supports the full Game Boy Advance library and is backward compatible with earlier generations, meaning it can play three eras of Game Boy games. It has a Game Boy Advance Link Cable port on the top, and the cartridge slot on the bottom accepts Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance cartridges. The SP is region-free, so US, Japanese, and European cartridges all work without restrictions. This pre-owned unit has been tested and confirmed working, making it a solid entry point into retro Nintendo handheld gaming.
