About this deal
The Nintendo Game Boy Advance SP is a compact, clamshell handheld console released by Nintendo in 2003. It is an upgraded version of the Game Boy Advance, featuring a more compact clamshell design, a rechargeable battery, and an integrated screen light -- a notable step forward from earlier Game Boys that relied on reflective, unlit screens. The GBA SP launched in Platinum Silver and Cobalt Blue , making this colour one of the original launch options. The console can play all Game Boy cartridges, including Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance titles. The clamshell design protects the screen from scratches and dust. Power comes from a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, offering around 10 hours of continuous play with the light on or up to 18 hours with it off, with a recharge time of around 3 hours. Note that Nintendo removed the 3.5 mm headphone jack from the SP, which had been included on all previous Game Boy models -- a headphone adapter is required for audio use. This is a used example, so cosmetic wear is to be expected.
