Metroid Fusion is a 2002 action-adventure game developed and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy Advance, and the fourth main entry in the Metroid franchise. Bounty hunter Samus Aran is attacked by a deadly parasite while on a mission, and cured using Metroid DNA, she is bestowed with unique new powers but must face a new enemy: the X parasite. Like earlier Metroid titles it is a side-scrolling game with platform jumping, shooting, and puzzle elements, and it introduces mission-based progression that guides the player through specific areas.
