This is a mixed lot of 11 physical comic books spanning both DC and Marvel titles. Superman made his debut in Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster's Action Comics, whose iconic first issue featured the red-caped hero from Krypton lifting a car over his head. Action Comics is also the series that debuted Lex Luthor, Supergirl, Brainiac, and many other key characters. The Superboy title ran from March/April 1949 through August 1977 for 230 issues and one Annual. The Silver Surfer was created by Jack Kirby and first appeared in Fantastic Four #48 in 1966; he is a humanoid alien with metallic skin who travels through space on a surfboard-like craft, originally a young astronomer named Norrin Radd who saved his homeworld from Galactus. The first Silver Surfer solo series was published beginning in 1968, written by Stan Lee with art by John Buscema.
