This is a Japanese-market Sega Mega Drive cartridge of Daikokai Jidai 2, known outside Japan as Uncharted Waters: New Horizons. It is the second main title in the Uncharted Waters series, developed and published by Koei. Set in 1522, the game was released on the Sega Mega Drive in 1994 and is a simulation RPG themed around the Age of Discovery. Players take on the role of a captain and manage a seagoing fleet to participate in trade, privateering, treasure hunting, exploration, and piracy. Players choose from one of six adventurers, each with their own distinctive but intertwining plot, to embark on a quest of sailing, seamanship, and exploration. The exploration mode was completely revamped from the first game: players gain fame not only by discovering remote ports but also by searching native villages for unique discoveries, ranging from geographical or cultural wonders to exotic plants and animals. Players can build or buy and upgrade a fleet of different ship types, recruit crews, distribute resources, trade, and carry out economic and combat tasks. A must for fans of open-ended strategy RPGs and retro Koei titles. Please note this is a Japanese-language release.
