Mashle: Magic and Muscles (known in Japanese as Masshuru) is a manga series written and illustrated by Hajime Komoto, serialised in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump from January 2020 to July 2023. Set in a world where an individual's place in society is defined by their magical ability, the story follows Mash Burnedead, a young man with no magic at all, who must enrol at the Easton Magic Academy and become a Divine Visionary in order to live a peaceful life. The series is a parody and loving send-up of Shonen Jump tropes and magical school stories all combined. This Japanese-language edition of Volume 1 is published by Shueisha under the Jump Comics imprint and includes furigana readings alongside the kanji, making it accessible to manga readers who are still building their Japanese vocabulary.
