The game is rooted in the real battle of 16 December 1944, near the village of Lanzerath in Belgium, where just 18 American defenders held off a German battalion of roughly 500 paratroopers, inflicting heavy casualties and delaying the advance of the entire 1st SS Panzer Division. Published by Dan Verssen Games, it is part of the Valiant Defense series, following titles such as Pavlov's House and Castle Itter. The series focuses on small forces holding the line against overwhelming odds, with games deeply rooted in history and designed to offer a quick-play experience with a light complexity rule set.
