About this deal
Kingdom (キングダム) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yasuhisa Hara, serialised in Shueisha's seinen magazine Weekly Young Jump since January 2006. It follows war orphan Xin as he fights to become the greatest general under the heavens and unify China during the Warring States period. This first edition first printing was published on 19 May 2006 by Shueisha under the Young Jump Comics imprint and runs to 218 pages, written entirely in Japanese. Hara drew inspiration from the ancient Chinese historical text known as Shiji, filling in gaps in the historical records with creative freedom. The series has become a global phenomenon: it has sold over 110 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling manga in the world, and won the grand prize at the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize in 2013. This first edition volume is a genuine piece of manga history, ideal for collectors and fans of the series alike.
