The Juniper QFX5100-24Q is a compact 1U, high-density 40GbE data centre access and aggregation switch, offering 24 QSFP+ ports in its base configuration with the option to scale to 32 QSFP+ ports via two four-port expansion modules. It delivers a switching capacity of 2.56 Tbps and a forwarding rate of 1.44 Bpps, making it well suited to demanding spine-and-leaf or top-of-rack deployments. This open-box unit includes dual management ports and two AC power supplies for redundancy. Each QSFP+ port can be configured as a single 40GbE connection or broken out as four 10GbE links, giving network engineers considerable flexibility. The switch runs Juniper's Junos operating system, which supports advanced features including BGP, EVPN-VXLAN, MPLS, and Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE). Zero-touch provisioning and support for Ansible, Puppet, and other DevOps configuration management tools help reduce network complexity.
