About this deal
James Pond 2: Codename RoboCod is a 1991 platform game developed by Vectordean and published by Millennium Interactive for the Atari ST. The story sees villain Dr. Maybe retreat to the North Pole and take over Santa's workshop, holding workers hostage, and it falls to James Pond to infiltrate the grotto, free the captives, and retrieve stolen toys. Equipped with a robotic suit and the codename RoboCod (a play on RoboCop), Pond gains superhuman agility and the ability to stretch his midsection almost indefinitely to reach otherwise inaccessible areas. The game features 50 levels across numerous themed doors, with no weapons available -- enemies must be defeated by jumping on them -- and power-ups including extra lives and wings, plus occasional vehicles such as cars, planes, and flying bathtubs. Notably, the original UK version of the game featured in-game product placement for McVitie's Penguin Biscuits, making it one of the earliest games to use this form of advertising. This complete UK big box edition is a sought-after piece of early 1990s home computer gaming history, ideal for Atari ST collectors and retro gaming enthusiasts.
