About this deal

A lot of six Marvel Comics issues spanning the Bronze Age era of the Iron Man title, published between 1981 and 1989. The named issues include key and notable entries: issue #146 (1981) is a key issue featuring the first appearance of Blacklash, formerly known as Whiplash , with art plotted by David Michelinie and Bob Layton, with pencils by John Romita Jr. Issue #166 (January 1983), written by Denny O'Neil, is notable for the first full appearance of Obadiah Stane, the villain later portrayed in the first MCU Iron Man film. Issue #244 is a double-sized special from July 1989, in which Tony Stark returns to work at Stark Enterprises -- alive, but unable to walk, pressing on in a wheelchair to lead his company. This lot is ideal for collectors of classic Marvel superhero comics or fans of Tony Stark's early storylines. The lot is listed in Good condition, which is typical for comics of this age and means some wear is to be expected. Two of the named issues are recognised key books, making this a potentially rewarding find for anyone building a Bronze Age Iron Man run.
