Golden Kamuy is a seinen manga series written and illustrated by Satoru Noda. Set in Hokkaido, it follows Saichi Sugimoto, a Russo-Japanese War veteran nicknamed "Sugimoto the Immortal", who discovers a massive stash of hidden gold and teams up with Asirpa, a young Ainu girl, to find it -- battling criminals, soldiers and the brutal northern wilderness along the way. The series gives specific focus to the indigenous Ainu people and their culture, exploring their language and way of life. The manga won the ninth Manga Taisho in 2016 and the 22nd Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize in 2018, and by July 2024 had over 29 million copies in circulation. Viz Media licensed the manga for North America and published the English-language edition from 2017. This lot of volumes 1 to 10 covers the opening chapters of the series and is a great starting point for new readers, or a chance to pick up a complete early run in one go. The series is listed in Very Good condition.
